At the front courtyard of an ancient residence standing in the mountainous area for several decades, visitors can enjoy coffee rated as specialty grade. Visitors can also stop by Longyanlin Tea Factory rated as a five-star tea factory for its sanitary and safe tea-making process, to savor tea or roam in the midst of a bamboo forest. Taking a walk along one of the trails in Erjianshan, they will be captivated by the scenery of verdant tea gardens against the backdrop of mountains.
Located between altitudes of 700 and 1300 meters, Longyan villages is shrouded in clouds and mist all the year round. Affected by high altitudes, crops here grows slower, which explains the outstanding quality of tea and coffee grown here. Longyan village is the place of origin of Taiwan high mountain tea. Which was later introduced to tea farming areas in Alishan. In addition to high-quality tea coffee grown in Longayn village has achieved outstanding results in specialty coffee reviews in Taiwan Coffee Festivals in recent years.
Recommended Scenic Spots
The entrance of Leshan Trail is located en route to Longxing Temple in Longyan Village. Consisting of sleeper steps, the trail runs along tea gardens and bamboo forests. It takes about ten minutes to walk the trail and reach the observation deck, where visitors can overlook Longxing Temple, the valleys upstream of Qingshui River below, and layers upon layers of verdant mountains on the opposite side. It is all very relaxing and pleasant.
In the early days, Erjianshan was covered with mountain longan trees. Many forerunners engaged in the production of longan charcoal to be sold in submontane marketplaces; therefore, many trails were built at that time. To date, these trails are used for hiking purposes. The trails end at Erjianshan Leisure Tea Garden, where the vast stretch of green-carpet-like tea gardens extends downward along the terrains to distant mountains, creating a heaven-like landscape.
Longxing Temple is mainly dedicated to the worship of Emperor Xuantian and is the only temple in Longyan Village. The Temple is adjacent to Longyanlinwei Activity Center, which was exactly where villagers going to Meishan by foot would pass by in the early days. Its location explains why the Temple was built here: for the two purposes of seeking divine protection and warding off evil spirits with the power of gods.
「嘉義梅山乾隆民番界碑」位於第32 彎道旁產業道路，前行800 公尺即可見石碑。為清朝界定山地與平地之標誌，目前僅存梅山鄉界碑仍立於原址，具稀少性與歷史意義。
