Taiping Suspension Bridge regulation of entry
|For safety concerns, entry to the bridge during the period of closing is not permitted. Any intruders will be held responsible.|
|Visitors appearing unconscious or drunk are not permitted to enter the bridge. In addition, those have fear of heights, high blood pressure, heart disease or asthma, pregnant women, or with other physical conditions are not suitable for climbing the bridge; it is suggested not to enter the area for the safety concern.|
|The steps are paved on the both sides of the bridge; for the safety concern, baby strollers and wheelchairs are not permitted to enter.|
|To maintain visiting quality and safety travel, smoking is prohibited, and visitors are not permitted to bring pets, explosives or any items may cause the damages to the facilities.|
It's not allowed to open an umbrella, wear high heels, run, jump, climb, shake, march in a group or litter on the bridge. Visitors are requested to visit along the designated routes. Whenever the red warning light is blinking, no entry is permitted; the visitors on the bridge should follow the instructions of the service agents to evacuate immediately.
|In case of typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rain, strong winds, thunder or other weather conditions not conducive to safe passing of the bridge, we may stop the entry of all visitors. Whenever the facility is back to a safe status without any danger, we will announce the reopening date.|
Q1. How do I buy tickets?
|A: Ticket Reservation time: Visitors can buy the tickets 30 days before climbing the bridge by logging-in and completing the ticket reservation. For example: A visitor plans to climb the bridge at 1:00~1:30pm on September 23, he can buy the ticket as early as the time at 12am on August 24, and completes the ticketing process no later than the time at 12am September 23.|
Q2. Are there any tickets available for purchase on site?
|A: Tickets are not available for purchase at the entrance. Visitors are suggested to buy tickets in advance before going up the mountain.|
Q3. Do we need to bring any identification documents?
|A: Visitors should show either the e-tickets (QR Code) or the hard copies printed by themselves (QR Code included). Visitors using discount tickets, half-price tickets, complimentary tickets, or free-admission tickets, please bring acceptable identification documents (the National Identification Card, or the Health Insurance Card), arrive on time as reserved and a wait climbing the bridge with patience.|
Q4. How to refund the tickets? Will the ticket expire?
|A: After linking to the Taiping Suspension Bridge official website, visitors can log in to the account with their password to refund the ticket.|
Q5. Is there a deadline for refunds?
|A: The application of the ticket refund should not be made later than 1 day ahead of the reserved date. A full refund can be granted 3 days ahead of the reserved date of climbing the bridge. (For example: September 4th is the reserved date of climbing the bridge. The final time limit for a full refund is no later than the midnight of August 31st.) 50 % refund can be granted 1-3 days ahead of the reserved date of climbing the bridge. No full refund will be granted, so please take careful consideration before buying a ticket.|
Q6. If there is a typhoon or a nature disaster, is the ticket refund available?
|A: Due to the nature disasters or unavoidable factors, our administration will announce the close of the bridge, and during the warning period of time, the ticket sold will be refunded without any charges.
Q12. How much time does it take from downtown Meishan to the Taiping Suspension Bridge? A: It’s about 30 minutes by driving.
Q7. Are there any limitation for the open areas and the opening hours?
|A: Taiping Suspension Bridge is open on weekdays 9am-4:30pm with a total of 15 session. Each session is 30 minutes. The last session is at 4:30pm. There are extra 2 sessions on the weekends and holidays, and the last session is at 5:30pm.|
Q8. The visitor capacity of each session:
|A: Each session has a capacity of 130 visitors divided into 30 visitors travelling by cars, 30 visitors coming by shuttle buses, 40 group visitors and 30 hotel guests. Opening hours: 11am~1pm. The maximum number of the group visitors is 80.|
Q9. Are there any other approaches for the hotel guests to buy the Taiping Suspension Bridge ticket?
|A: They can ask for the assistance from the local hostels or hotels to buy their tickets online.|
Q10. How much is the Taiping Suspension Bridge ticket?
|A: The adult ticket of the Taiping Suspension Bridge is NT$150. To promote and benefit the tourist’s attraction in the Meishan Taiping village, during the promotional period from September 23,2017 to September 22,2018, the complimentary ticket prices are as listed below:|
Group size with the number of people exceeding 15
Students (with student identification cards)
Passengers of the Taiping Line shuttle bus
Children (age 7-12, need to show their identification documents)
Age 65 and above with identification documents
Chiayi citizens with identification documents
Preschool kids (age 0-6, need to show their identification documents)
Handicapped with Handicapped Identification and one companion each if necessary.
Holding a volunteer honor certificate
Meishan villagers holding the identification documents
Q11. How to reach the Taiping Suspension Bridge?
|A1: Visitors taking the shuttle buses can park their cars in the old Meishan Junior high school parking lot. They go to Meishan Sanjiao Park to take the shuttle buses operated by the Chiayi County Bus Management Office to go up to the mountain.|
|A2: The tour groups using A-type buses need to park the buses in the old Meishan Junior High School parking lot, and go up to the mountain by the B-type buses operated by the local transportation companies.|
|A3: Visitors travelling by driving, please exit National Highway No.3 at Meishan Interchange, and drive along County Highway No. 162A to reach Taiping.|
Q12. How much time does it take from downtown Meishan to the Taiping Suspension Bridge?
|A: It’s about 30 minutes by driving.|
Q13. Are there any parking lots nearby the Taiping Suspension Bridge?
|A: The capacity of the Taiping Visitor Center is 73 motorcycles, 7 middle-sized buses, and 127 automobiles. The Sanyuan Temple has the parking capacity of 69 automobiles and 2 middle-sized bus.|
Q14. Is the Taiping Suspension Bridge equipped with barrier-free facilities?
|A: There are steps on both sides of the Taiping Suspension Bridge. However, for the safety concern, baby strollers and wheelchairs are not permitted to enter.|
Q15. How much time does it take to walk across the Taiping Suspension Bridge?
|A1: The route can be divided into three parts. The route on the Wooden Path from the Taiping Suspension Bridge back to the Visitor Center takes about 30 minutes.|
|A2: After climbing the bridge, continuing walking on the South Cloud Path to the Taiping old street takes about 60 minutes.|
|A3: The longest route starting from climbing the bridge, continuing walking on the South Cloud Path, then finishing walking the Xiaozi Walking Path to reach the Zhulin Tea House on the Taiping old street takes about 90 minutes.|
Q16. Are there food and drinks available at the area of Taiping Suspension Bridge?
|A: Simple meals and drinks are sold on the second floor of the Taiping Visitor Center. There are local distinctive shops on the Taiping old street offering meals and drinks for visitors.|
Q17. Is there any identifications required to show for climbing the bridge?
|A: Visitors should show either the e-tickets (QR Code) or the hard copies printed by themselves (QR Code included) is required. Visitors using discount tickets, half-price tickets, complimentary tickets, please bring acceptable documents for identifications (the National Identification Card, the Driver’s Licence or the Health Insurance Card) and arrive on time as reserved and a wait climbing the bridge with patience.|
