Visit the secluded Liyuanliao Station of the Alishan Forest -Railway, and savor cuisines cooked with fresh wild mountain vegetables. Here in Taixing, visitors can always find a place to brew tea and chat with friends, be it in tea gardens, by rivers, or in front yards. This is what draws visitors to Taixing.
Taixing community used to be called Liyuanliao (literally means a hut for ploughs). featuring grass hut built for ploughs by a group of non-locals coming here to log the trees. It is where the unmanned Liyuanliao Station. The only station of the Alishan Forest Railway in Meishan Township, is located. Trains usually do not call at this station, so passengers must hail board the trains.
Due to the attitude and the climatic conditions, the tea grown here is mostly high-mountain tea varieties, especially Jinxuan Tea famed for its hint of milk flavor. Between every September and October, the valleys in Taixing, which are known as Taixing phoenix Cave, are visited by flock of cattle egrets almost every day, creating an astonishing ecological landscape.

The Hundred-year-old Stone Mill
The Shengmaoshu River and its branches are known as the "mother river" in Taixing Village. The hundred-year-old stone mill was built during the rule of the Emperor Daoguang in the Qing dynasty. Back then, rise harvested from the over 30 hectares of rice paddies in the neighboring seven villages were all brought to the giant stone milling. During the process, a person would be in charge of guiding an ox to draw the stone mill in circles to unhusk the rice, creating an interesting scene seen only in the early days.
Taixingyan Trail is a major scenic spot where visitors en route to Ruili Village will stop to rest.Located at an altitude of 850meters and measuring 600 meters long, the trail runs amid a vast stretch of tea gardens and boasts a pleasant landscape.
Classified as a class-three historic site, the Taixing Temple was built in 1823 to enshrine the statues of the Bodhisattva of Compassion and the Third Prince Nezha brought by Huang Gen-long from Fujian Province, China to Taiwan. A pilgrimage procession of the Bodhisattva is held every January 5th of the lunar calendar, and a celebration participated by worshipers across Taiwan is held for the birthday of the Bodhisattva on every February 19th. On this occasion, the village hosts the most visitors.

Liyuanliao Station is an unmanned hail-and-ride station located at an altitude of 904 meters. The nearby Jianqingtai Observation Deck was once visited by Japanese Rrince Showa and the late President Chiang Kai-shek. Visitors can enjoy the sunrise, a sea of clouds,and the night view of Jianan plain from the deck.
「嘉義梅山乾隆民番界碑」位於第32 彎道旁產業道路，前行800 公尺即可見石碑。為清朝界定山地與平地之標誌，目前僅存梅山鄉界碑仍立於原址，具稀少性與歷史意義。
